KASINO and its core has won a bunch of awards together and separately, including these: Kasino A4 was given the Golden Award in the Vuoden Huiput — Best of the Year 2008 competition, Jussi Puikkonen was named Finland’s Magazine Photographer of the Year 2008 and KASINO A4 receive in-book recognition in the Magazine & Newspapers category of the D&AD Awards 2008.

In March 2008 Angelo Cirimele, Editor of Style Press 2008 picked KASINO A4 on the list of the Top Ten Independent Style Magazines alongside eg. Self Service, 032C and Monocle. “’Finland, the other homeland of graphic design,‘ could be a fine slogan for the independent-collective-published Kasino A4,” he remarked.

In March 2009 KASINO A4 was invited to be one of the ten magazines that set up an exhibition during the Colophon2009 magazine event in Luxembourg. In coverage on the event Wallpaper* and Creative Review were among publications to mention KASINO A4 — THE GRAYSCALE BAR as a highlight of Colophon2009. Here, for example, is what Creative Director and Editor of 032c magazine, Joerg Koch, said in Meat Magazine: “For me it’s really important for magazines to be able to create a social space. [KASINO A4 — THE GRAYSCALE BAR] was a dense space and you went in and could immediately work out the identity of the magazine — that’s the beauty of it.”
